Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam was truly the most magical city I have ever visited. It was beautiful, bright, and colorful. The people were even beautiful to look at. As much as I love living in Florence, there was a huge difference between the two cities. Amsterdam has a modern style and Florence is very old style. If you have a modern taste like I do, you will fall in love with Amsterdam.  There is also so many activities to do there. I only had two full days in this glorious city, but this is what I would recommend:

Activities:

  • Anne Frank House – GO, Most powerful thing I have ever experienced, If you are of the Jewish religion, or not at all, it truly is a MUST
  • Van Gogh Museum – Very beautiful and interesting, more exciting if you are more interested in art and art history
  • Heineken Museum – So much fun, I would compare it to an amusement park for adults, must go with friends
  • Canal Tour – Go on the 30 min. canal tour that the Heineken Museum offers instead of the expensive hour long one you will find outside
  • Red Light District  – Just go and explore with friends, make a night out of it
  • I Amsterdam Letters – Be basic and take pictures with the letters, worth the Instagram

Food:

  • Bakers and Roasters – Go for brunch, poached egg dishes are great, any of the egg burritos are to die for, SHARE the banana nut french toast because it is unreal
  • Coffee & Coconuts – Also great for brunch
  • Granada – 35 Euros for unlimited tapas and sangria for 2 hours, go with a group
