Green is the New Black

Fall is here and winter is coming. That means it’s time to throw out your black leather jackets, bombers, and coats from last year because green is the new black! I am obsessed with the color green and love bringing colors into a season that can sometimes be so dark and dreary. Time to liven up your winter with some excitement. Check out some of my favorite green jackets that are under $100.00 below!

Yeezy Yeezy Yeezy

This year for Alpha Phi homecoming, we wanted to do something a little different and more exciting for the seniors. Every year we have shirts made, but as merchandising chair, I decided we needed something a little trendier than the usual merchandise.

Kanye West has been on tour this past year and his Life of Pablo merchandise sold concerts have become a hit. Celebrities like Justin Bieber, Kylie Jenner, and Sophia Richie wear their own Life of Pablo shirts around Hollywood too.

Because the shirts have become so big, I thought there was no better idea than to bring them to the University of Delaware. The idea ended up working out perfectly and everyone loved them. To make them even more fun and interesting, I added every senior’s nickname to the bottom of the shirts as well. Check out our senior homecoming shirts below!

Chokers and Charms

My favorite jewelry pieces for this season are definitely chokers and charms. I love more than anything any kind of choker with a separate longer necklace layered with it. Alexandra Lucchesi in Alpha Phi at the University of Delaware, started her own speciality boho beach jewelry filled with awesome chokers and charms. Get with this current choker trend and purchase your own now! Look below for some of my personal favorites and follow @acljewels on Instagram for more.

One-Pieces over Two-Pieces

Summer is coming up and it’s time to throw your bikinis away and start investing in some one-piece swimsuits. In other words, one-pieces are the new two-pieces. When some people think of a one-piece swimsuit, they automatically shut down the idea of buying one because they think it is going to cover up every part of their body that they want to show off. That is not the case at all. One-pieces these days come in so many different designs and styles that they are cooler than you think. You can get them with cut outs, lace ups, stripes, floral prints, anything at all. Check out some of my favorites below!

  1. 6 Shore Road Kiyana One-Piece Swimsuit

  2. Bohemian Rhapsody Halter Swimsuit

  3.  River Island Clip Front Triangle Swimsuit

  4.  Braided One-piece

  5.  Maldvias Swimsuit

Sneaker Season

The past few months I have had a big obsession with sneakers. Enough with wearing boots and flats with your outfit to class. Pair it with sneakers. I know some people are not so fond of the idea, but that is because it takes some getting used to. If you start to read some fashion blogs and Instagram’s, you will start to realize how sneakers really can work with everyday wear. For example, Danielle from We Wore What, is all about pairing sneakers with just about anything! Check out some of my favorites…

  1. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 (Pictured Below: @nikilbader)
  2. Nike Flyknit Roshe
  3. Adidas Ultra Boost
  4. APL Techloom Pro (Black/Gold/Silver)
  5. The Trainer by Puma

Milan Fashion Week

Since I was younger, I have always dreamed of going to Milan. I knew that Milan was the fashion capital of the world, but never knew how truly extraordinary it was. Having the opportunity to be in Milan during Milan Fashion Week was life changing. In addition, I even got to see a fashion show!  We packed a lot of activities and events into two days, but it was so worth it. On Friday, after having the most amazing sushi at Nobu, we got to go to a showroom presentation by a designer named Martina Grasselli. The showroom was filled with modern and sophisticated shoes. I wish I could have bought every pair! In the afternoon, we went to the fashion hub market to see young designer collections. After, we went to the Corso Como art gallery, bookshop, and fashion shop. On Saturday, we went to the Giorgio Armani Museum. I have never been so emotional about fashion and clothing, but you would be too. The detail and hard work that went into designing these clothes was incredible. The museum was separated into four floors of magnificent garments. If you haven’t gone already, I would start planning your trip now! After the museum, we got to go to the Leitmotiv fashion show. Leitmotiv is a younger fashion label that is based in Bologna, Italy. The show was filled with lively colors, patterns, and upbeat music. At the end of the day, we went to the Vogue Next Talents presentation. This was where young, new designers that were represented by Vogue, got to show off their clothing lines. Everything about the whole entire weekend was beyond amazing. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Until next time Milano..
